  Diamond Grid-Loc Tiles review
Verified Purchase
Self-installed in Our Garage
John & Jean from Montrose, CO wrote...
We recently purchased your Diamond Grid-Loc Tiles. We chose royal blue & beige for our Garage floor. It was very easy to put the tiles down, once we got the hang of it.. However John had to do some cutting when it came time to fit into the corners and places where a 12″ square would not fit. We received our tiles on Wednesday, May 6th, and finished up the job on Saturday May 8th. That included John putting a quarter round board along the baseboard we already had down. We are so proud that we could do this project ourselves. We are not young people either --John is 84, and I am 79. SO needless to say, it was a little hard on our feet, legs, and backs. But we got the job done that we set out to do!!! We are proud of our Garage now and have shown i to several of our neighbors.. they liked it too! We have extra tiles left, so we will use them if we need to replace any in the future. I'm enclosing some pictures of our Garage floor- before & after the tiles were put down.. P.S. Wish we had known about your company 9 years ago.. we had painted the floor with Epoxy paint, but it hasn't held up like we thought it would.. oh well, live and learn I guess!!!

  Good bang for your buck

Garage looks outstanding! Everything came perfectly. Installation was pretty easy. When cutting tile, first tried a box cutting blade but it was too arduous. The jigsaw worked great and cut my time exponentially. Stomping on the tile to join them worked most effectively. Having a rubber mallet handy proved beneficial for the edges. These tiles are durable but not soft. You will hear the flexing of the tiles when walking on them but since they'll be in the garage it's an easy trade-off. Would highly recommend. I've seen some waterproof tiles but they were at least twice the price and required a lot more prep and finish. Excellent customer service!

I ordered four colors of the product, laid out a pattern, and completed a 24 by 30 garage--all in a weekend. It was easy to lay out. I used a box cutter with a new blade to cut all the tiles. And, it looks great when I was done. Also, the product shipped very quickly and complete! Thanks.

  Best Garage Floor Yet

I ordered this floor with trepidation that it would be another attempt to cover concrete that would fail. When it arrived 4 days later we installed (2 Men) it in a 48x25 four car garage in 9 hours with many intricate cuts. This is a great system that installs with a rubber mallet and can be cut with a sliding miter box. I am a builder of 30 years and I left most of my skills in my tool box. You do not need to be a master mechanic to install this floor. I would make 2 recommendations !. Start along the garage door walls with a snapped chalk line and lay true to that line. If the floor is out of square you will still have a perfect front edge. Do not let the side walls dictate where the front wall will go. These tiles interlock so you cannot lay out of pattern. @. Use a 15# or 30# tar paper under the floor. It will take the ″clickity clack″out of walking on the floor. I also used 2 courses of vented tile near the garage doors to allow melted snow and water to exit under the floor. I'm about to use this product on a commercial entrance since it is skid resistant and looks great Dan Marrazzo

The coin grid-loc tiles came recommended by a friend who also installed them in his garage. He tested them for all sorts of stain making materials and none performed better.

After talking of remodeling the garage all summer, we finally did it late fall. The Vented Grid-Loc tiles were the perfect touch to complete this double weekend project. Garage Flooring inc. had the best pricing allowing me not to settle for flooring I did not truly want. The interlocking grids were easy to assemble & cut to shape where needed. I have been warned by wives not to show their husbands or they will want one as well.

  Garage/Workshop
Self-installed in Garage/workshop
Mike from New London, CT wrote...
I had installed regular vinyl floor tiles over the concrete Garage floor about 20 years ago. They had become brittle and had holes from Motorcycle kickstands, generally shabby looking. Internet research for a suitable covering led me to www.rubberingflooring.com. After checking pricing for other methods of repair/replacement I decided to go with the Diamond Grid-Loc Tiles with an underlayment of 30# roofing felt, 423 square feet at a cost of about $35.00 at the local big box store. The underlay took most of the hollow echo out of the tile when walking across them, however one still hears the creaking of the tile but not objectively so, small trade off for the clean looks. My garage/workshop is 24' x 30' and I keep a 12' x 20' area without any covering so as to be able to use jacks to lift cars as needed, the manufacturer of the tiles states not to use jacks on the tile to prevent damage. This is consistent with the prior floor covering layout. I purchased edging for the separation of concrete and tile, really neatens things up, in addition to allowing a smooth transition from one flooring to the other. All cutting of tile was done using a band saw with a standard wood cutting blade, just went slow to avoid overheating tile. Installation went very easily using a leather mallet to join tiles together. No undue surprises with install. All in all I am very pleased with the outcome. I did order samples to evaluate construction of tiles, I then placed my order after utilizing the custom design feature on the web page which was a big help in determining colors and lay out. I received my order 10 days after placing order on a Saturday so actual order wasn't received until Monday, so rather good shipping times considering that it was very near Christmas. UPS delivered all 10 boxes into my garage so I only had to move them into place, a big labor savings. I had no reason to contact the company after placing my order as there were no problems with shipping and order was as I placed it. From the reviews I read I suspect if there were any problems the Company would be very supportive.

Great product - easy to instal!
Self-installed in Woodworking shop
John R from San Antonio, TX wrote...
I had originally wanted to apply a polyaspartic/polyurea floor coating to my new woodshop floor. After getting a bid for $4900 to do my 750 square foot shop, I decided instead to go with the coin grid-lock tiles from Rubber Flooring, Inc, which cost me less than half that amount. This was a very good decision. I applied a good underlayment prior to laying the tiles which helped reduce the sound of walking on the tiles and helped seal against moisture. The flooring was easy to install. At one point, I had a four year old working the rubber hammer while I put the tiles in place. I found it easiest to lay a stack of the tiles on the floor in the position they would be laid down, saving the time of turning the tiles until I had them in the right position. The entire 750 sf. shop floor was completely installed in about 14 hours of work. I had to cut one entire row of tiles, but did so with ease using a bandsaw. I highly recommend this product and company. Easy to deal with, fast shipping and a great product.

Self-installed in outdoor patio
JBD from Atlanta, Ga wrote...
This is a fantastic product. I installed about 400 square feet on an outdoor covered patio over concrete and the results are simply beautiful. I am age 75 and installed the tiles myself in just a few hours. Used a stool with rollers so I didn't have go get on my gimpy knees and it was an easy job. It isn't often that you buy a product that turns out to be much better than you hoped, but this one is just that. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a beautiful solution for a floor covering where some rain water will be encountered.

I measured our garage by myself and ordered online the Diamond grid lock garage flooring as a surprise for my husband for his new 3 car garage. The person I worked with online to order the flooring was very kind and professional with me and...very patient. The day it arrived, my husband came home and I surprised him with a pallet of flooring, he couldn't believe it! Well...let's just say he was floored. He wanted to start installing it right away. He and our grandson installed all of the flooring in our 3 car garage, with cuts in 7 hours. It looks fantastic and he loves it!!

  Easy Install & Custom Looks
Self-installed in Garage
Anonymous from Chandler, AZ wrote...
We recently bought a new house and designed our interior flooring and we where looking to do the same for our garage, these tiles where the answer to get our custom look, and stand out from the standard epoxy look. They were extremely easy to install myself, and I thought it was worth the extra money compared to epoxy as epoxy took more time to install. The flooring looks great overall and we have been getting no stop compliments on the flooring. Image sent in by customer

I absolutely love the garage floor tile (Diamond Grid-loc). It's reasonably easy to install, looks great, and is easy to clean. Only two issues thus far (a month in) -- we have a gravel driveway, and if your tires bring in any of the rocks, they can pierce the tiles (I've had this happen only once, and I easily replaced the tile). My solution (whether it works long-term is yet to be seen) is to drive very slowly into the garage to make sure that no rapid direction or speed changes drive the rocks into the tire treads. The other issue -- when driving out of the garage, be sure NOT to quickly brake when halfway off the tiles. This caused (again, only once) the tiles to pull apart from one another in rows. Again, this was quickly fixed (I just put them back together with my trusty rubber mallet), but now I slowly enter and leave the garage. None of this changes my love for the product -- I just have new ″garage driving rules″!!

I have been looking for a permanent solution to eliminate the garage concrete floot chipping until I come across this garage rubber tiles. Installation is just a piece of cake. All I need is just a rubber hammer for interlocking the pieces and a jigsaw for fitting the tiles at the bottom of the staircase. It merely took me 3 hours to cover up the whole floor of a double garage.

  Epoxy Disgrace
Self-installed in Garage
Anonymous from Philadelphia, PA wrote...
I hated my garage and I was buying a new car. I wanted it to have a nice home. Years ago, I had the floor painted with epoxy and it was a disaster. It didn't even look good new. It started to peel within a week and continued until I couldn't stand the sight of it anymore, 5 years later. I thought I would have to remove all of it before using the garage tiles, but I didn't. I only need to sweep and clean. The tiled hide what's underneath, so it could remain. Also, I was skeptical about the installation. I tried to hire a tiler and a handyman but no one wanted the job. My garage is 300 ft/sq. The full size tiles went down quickly and easily. It only took 2-3 hours and we used a mallet. The next day we cut the irregular pieces. It was tough with a utility blade but simple with a jigsaw. It looks great. Because the floor looks so good, I had to continue and redecorate the entire garage, and I'm glad I did. It's my favorite room in the house.

I did the checkerboard pattern and couldn't be happier. I laid the tiles in just a few hours, including the trimming. Tiles trim Quick and easy using a table saw. Highly recommend laying the rubber matting underneath to eliminate chatter. Tiles snapped together quickly using a rubber mallet. I did screw up and start from back corner of garage which meant my front edge ended up not aligning with the front of the garage, oops. I had to pull the rows down to align with the front edge, and then trim new tiles for the back wall which wasted a few tiles. Don't make that mistake. You'll need the male or female attachments on the front edge if using the ramp pieces which I also recommend to give the floor a cleaner look and smooth transition to your driveway. Tiles are very durable and not at all deformed from even my SUV parked on them. Clean up easily with a wet rag. Only complaint is that the sales associate who helped me with the order suggested I needed 3 rolls of matting, and I only needed 1.5. Now I'm stuck with a $70 roll of rubber. The cost to send back was over $100. They should reimburse, even half the cost. It seems that should be an easy thing to know if you do it everyday. I obviously provided the correct dimensions because the tiles were spot on.

The tiles were very easy to install and look great! I used table saw with plywood blade to speed up trimming the pieces that needed it. I have only had it installed for a few days and there are already a couple of scars. The material is very easily scarred.
