Description – The diamond plate design is one of the best floor tile patterns available and our most popular pattern for use as garage flooring. It not only has a tough appearance for use in heavy-duty commercial/industrial/ workshop settings, but it also provides for a non-slip surface in case the flooring is spilled on and/or gets wet by water, oil, or other liquids. Cutting of these tiles to custom fit them into your room can be easily done with a fresh utility knife and straight-edge like a yardstick or ruler.
Note:Flex Tile colors are produced in batches, which can lead to color variations in your order. All colors may present some color variation, but black, dark gray, and light gray can produce the most. These three colors can vary greatly between batches and thus it is recommended that you order more flooring than is needed for mistakes and replacements. This, in turn, gives you the greatest chance to keep continuity across your floor. Batching will also affect color variation between samples and your order with black, dark gray, and light gray showing the most variation.
Material – Constructed entirely of a proprietary and durable blend of flexible virgin PVC. This blend ensures that the tiles are flexible and have anti-fatigue qualities similar to rubber flooring and durability, long life, and chemical resistance associated with polyvinyl chloride.
Size – 20.5" x 20.5"
Thickness – 0.157" (4mm)
Weight – 3.75 Lbs. per tile
Recommended Uses – Diamond plate tiles are truly a multiuse tile option. These tiles are most often used as garage floor tiles but have been used successfully in gyms, workout rooms, tool sheds, as trade show flooring, auto dealership show rooms, retail stores, and auto show display floors.

Diamond Flex Tiles are easy to clean and can be cleaned as often as needed.
  • Sweeping or vacuuming any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the tiles.
  • Occasionally damp mop the garage tiles with a mild soap and water mixture. Some soaps commonly used include Dawn dish detergent and/or Tide laundry detergent.
  • Since each tile is coated with a protectant silicone sealant, the tiles may become scuffed or scratched during the installation process or while moving large objects. To help reduce the appearance of scratches or scuff marks, we recommend using Armstrong’s Shine Keeper.

Note:This is not a stain-proof product. Street tar can stain light-colored tiles and usually can be remedied with a cleaner called Purple Power. If you have performance tires, staining can occur with light-colored tiles. To get rid of tire marks, you might have to replace the affected tiles, or use darker tiles to disguise the stains. If the staining on your floor does not dissipate, please contact our dedicated Customer Service team at 800-613-0996 who can further assist you.

Installing these interlocking tiles is very simple and usually done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
  1. First, clean your subfloor, so it is free of all dirt, grease, or debris.
  2. Snap a chalk line on the subfloor 20” from one wall in your room. Snap another chalk line on the subfloor 20” from an adjacent wall. You should now have a pair of perpendicular lines making an approximate 90-degree angle.
  3. Begin laying the interlocking tiles along the chalk lines, snapping the locks together as you go.
  4. Leave the other two edges of the room open until the middle is installed.
  5. After the rest of the room is covered, go back and cut in tiles along the opposite walls in the room. We recommend leaving a gap along the walls roughly the thickness of the tiles being used to account for expansion and contraction of the floor in varied temperature ranges.
Note:When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the product is enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, you can use some double-sided tape or mat tape around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

Don't see what you're looking for?
Does the dimension of the Flex tile (20.5") include the tabs? So what is the dimension of the tile with the tabs cut off? Thanks for your help!
Michael
The size 20.5" x 20.5" includes the tabs. If you cut the tabs off, the tile would be 20" x 20".
my garage floor is 70 yrs old and is uneven withbsmall ridges and divets. Does that effect your product much? The sample you send out how big is it so i coukd lay it in some of the worst area and see how it lays?
Matthew
The sample size is small, not large enough to review over uneven subfloor. We'd recommend purchasing a full tile for a better indication of how the tile would lay on your floor. We would always recommend leveling out the concrete for best results.
I am in Arizona, how does your garage tiles hold up to extreme heat? Will my vehicle's tires stick to tiles?
Tom
Our Diamond Flex Tiles have been installed all over the country from the coldest parts of the North Dakota to the hottest parts here in Arizona. These tiles hold up very well in all climate types and will not get brittle in extreme cold or melt in extreme heat. These tiles are made from the same material that your water pipes in your home are made of, PVC. In extreme heat, your tires will not stick to the tiles. These tiles are made to expand and contract with the outside temperature. So, in extreme heat situations, your tiles will expand a bit. In extreme cold, they will contract.
I am planning to use your Diamond Flex Tiles to cover a basement/garage floor that is approximately 820 square feet. How much extra should I order to account for cutting/waste?
Dan Lovingood
We always recommend at least 5% overage for any space to account for any cuts, waste, or mistakes.
Are these tiles uv resistant? My garage opens to the west and gets a lot of afternoon sun.
Anonymous
Our Diamond Flex tiles are UV resistant. In direct sunlight they will fade.
After 2nd flooded basement, I'm considering you product. Is this something that if I flood again, i could lift up and dry them out to relay them?
Shellie
These tiles are easily interlock and are modular. You can pick these up, let them dry and reinstall with no issues.
I live in the Northeast. How do the Flex Tiles hold up during winter with road salt dripping from the car? Does the salt affect the tiles? Which tile might be the best option to withstand winter salt and chemicals used on roads.
Anonymous
Salt and other road products will not affect our Diamond Flex Tiles. These tiles are resistant to most household and vehicle chemicals and are also resistant to most road additives. There are only two things that will affect these tiles. Tar can stain these tiles, but that can be cleaned off the tiles with a product called Purple Power. The other thing that can affect the tiles is high-performance tires. The only solution to fix the staining from these tires is to get black tiles in the area where the car will be parked.
I am planning to use your product in a garage. We get a lot of snow and rain here, so I need to know: does this floor prevent water from seeping down to the actual garage floor? Can you give me a little more information on this feature? Thank you!
Anonymous
Our Diamond Flex Tiles interlock very tightly and make it very difficult for water to penetrate to the subfloor below. If the tiles are interlocked tightly, water typically does not seep through to the subfloor. If there is any gapping, then water will get between and under the tiles.
Are there trim pieces that go around the edges?
Mary Ann Thomas
You can order edges and corners for our Diamond Flex Tiles on the product page.
Can I put this flooring over electric radiant heat?
greg
You can install our Diamond Flex Tiles over a radiant heat floor. These tiles will not melt when installed over this type of system. When these tiles are installed over this type of system, you more than likely not get the full benefits of it as these tiles are non-porous and will keep most of the heat from transferring to the surface.
Will wheeled bookcases and carts roll over this tile without any issues? Also is it necessary to use the edge pieces on the sides of the floor?
Carmen Alexis
Wheeled bookcases and carts will roll over our Diamond Flex Tiles without any issues. You don't have to use the edge pieces on the sides of the floor. It will just depend on your install if you need them or not.
I have a painted concrete garage floor in Alabama that is wet about half the time-I assume because the vapor barrier was not used. If I install your tiles will that my floor still be wet? Or will the moisture not migrate up?
If you have moisture issues with your concrete floor, you will still have those issues even after installing our Diamond Flex Tiles. The moisture may not come to the surface as often as it is now, but there could be instances where you will see your floor sweat. To truly prevent this, we recommend sealing your concrete floor.
I've read that many of the interlocking tiles for a garage floor need a liner place under the tiles to eliminate the plastic sound. Do the Diamond Flex Tiles need a liner as well?
Scott B
Our Diamond Flex Tile and all of our Flex Tiles are soft and quiet compared to our hard plastic tiles, meaning no liner is needed. All you would need to do is just install the tiles over your hard, flat surface.
What do you recommend to cut these with? Just bought for my garage. I'm extremely happy with the quality and appearance. Need to edge around the garage walls and not sure what would be the best cutting tool for a clean edge. Thanks!
Alan
Our Diamond Flex Tiles are made from flexible PVC and can be easily cut with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge. We also do offer tile cutters that can also cut these tiles easily and cleanly. You can find our various tile cutters on our Tile Cutter page.
Would these work in a commercial bakery with heavy (100lb) bowls and carts being rolled on them?
Paul
Our Diamond Flex Tiles will work as flooring in a commercial bakery. These tiles are non-porous and are very easy to install and clean. These tiles were meant to be driven over by vehicles, so the heavy bowls on them won't be an issue at all.
Can your Diamond Flex Rolls and Tiles be used in the interior of a residential home? Are there any issues with smell or toxicity?
Steve
Our garage flooring products are using indoors all the time. There are no issues with toxicity. Smell should be minor with garage products but if you do experience some sensitivity to smell, we recommend letting the product air out for a few days.
Will the diamond flex tile shrink to show the seems and collect dirt to make the seems standout. Thanks
Jeff Kappius
The tiles will not shrink that like. There may be expansion / contraction depending on the conditions, but it would be minimal.
Would this tile be appropriate for a daycare? I’m particularly concerned with chemical safety.
Kimberly
These tiles are proudly made in the USA from 100% Virgin Vinyl, and are Phthalate Free for safety and would be suitable for daycare use.
I plan to put these tiles in my upstairs garage bonus room. However the floor is osb wood. Will they work on this floor?
Fred
Yes this would be a fine installation.
With the car parked in the garage, when the front tires are turned while the car is stationary, will the tile be pulled up or wrinkle or otherwise move?
Dave Donnelly
That is possible and we do not advise turning your tires while parked on the tiles.

  Great product for my garage

These tiles work great, look great and installation was simple. I would suggest using black wherever you have tires in contact for long periods of time. I started out with grey and the tires left marks that could not be cleaned off, I went to black and now you don't even see where the car is parked.

I installed the rubber tiles in my car detail shop The floor appearance looks great! It installed easy. The only the only issue we have is the floor hold dirt and tire marks very easy and cannot be removed with any cleaning products. We every tried scrubbing it with a floor machine and to looks better but still not clean as the original appearance
Great easy to install garage floor tiles

The Diamond flex tiles were just as advertised. They were flexible enough to cover the uneven parts of my floor but rigid enough to keep the floor level. The installation was very straight forward and I was able to cut all the edges with a good pair of scissors. There wasn't any noticeable color variations from box to box so that was appreciated. The results was better than I expected. I would recommend these tiles to anyone looking for an easy to install improvement on an old worn out garage floor. Thanks, Don
