Our Confetti-colored rubber is not consistent and may vary greatly from roll-to-roll. If you would like a rubber roll with guaranteed color consistency, we would recommend purchasing our standard 1/4”, 8mm, 3/8”, or 1/2” rubber rolls.

Material – Reground rubber is made from the post-industrial recycled rubber created during the production of our standard rubber products. This allows us to make a low-cost product that is designed to be functional. If you would like a rubber roll that has guaranteed color consistency, we would recommend one of our standard rolled rubber flooring products instead.
Width – Each roll is 4 feet wide.
Length – The rolls are custom cut to your desired lengths free of charge, provided that each roll length is 15’ long or longer and in whole foot increments such as 15’, 16’, 17’, etc. You will generally receive an extra few inches on each roll. This allows for a quick and easy installation.
Thickness – Available in 1/4", 8mm, 3/8", and 1/2" thickness.
Color – Confetti. (Note: This flooring is made entirely from the post-industrial recycled rubber that is naturally produced during the production of our standard rubber flooring products. Due to this, color density, shade, and variation can exist in the flooring depending on what kind of colors and products we are running on any given day.)
Weight – 1.5 Lbs. per sqft for the 1/4” thick rolls, 1.8 Lbs. per sqft for the 8mm thick rolls, 2.2 Lbs. per sqft for the 3/8” thick regrind rubber flooring and 3 Lbs. per sqft for the 1/2” thick regrind rubber flooring.
Recommended Uses – Our Regrind Rubber Rolls are the ultimate multi-purpose flooring solution for any space. With their durable and resilient properties, they are perfect for a wide range of applications such as commercial gyms, home gym flooring, CrossFit gyms, walkways, basement flooring, garage gyms, rec rooms, and more. You can even use them to cover your walls, ceiling, and furniture for a truly unique and bold look. The possibilities are endless, so let your imagination run wild and make the most of these versatile rubber rolls.

Keeping your Regrind flooring in top condition is easy with these simple maintenance steps:
  • Regularly sweep or vacuum any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the rubber surface.
  • For occasional deep cleaning, damp mop the rubber with a mixture of mild soap and water. We recommend using Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.
  • For tough stains or dirt buildup, scrub the affected area gently with a soft-bristled brush and the mild soap solution.
  • Avoid using any solvent or oil-based cleaners, such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy’s Oil Soap, WD40, or paint thinner, as these can break down the flooring over time.
Note: Before using any new cleaning product on your Regrind flooring, test it in a small, inconspicuous area to ensure it does not damage or discolor the rubber.

When installing rolled rubber flooring, it is important to follow the proper installation methods to ensure a successful and long-lasting installation. The most common methods of adhering rubber rolls to the subfloor are:

  • Double-Sided Tape Installation:
    1. First, clean your subfloor so that it is free of all dust, dirt, and debris.
    2. Loose lay your rolls in the room as you would like them to look after a complete installation. Let the rolls relax for 24-48 hours to ensure the proper installation of your new flooring.
    3. Note: Rolls may be directional, so make sure the color matches on each roll. If the roll colors do not match, flip them or turn them 180 degrees to ensure the color matches.
    4. Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the room using a straight edge and a utility knife with a fresh blade. We recommend leaving a gap around the rolls roughly the thickness of the rolls being used to account for expansion and contraction.
    5. Roll up the rolls at one end of the room. Apply double-sided tape to the floor along the perimeter of each roll.
    6. Place the rubber rolls back into position on top of the double-sided tape.
  • Glue Installation:
    1. First, clean your subfloor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, and debris. Also, when gluing your flooring down, it is recommended that the subfloor is free of any moisture.
Spread a light layer of polyurethane adhesive that is 10’ long (maximum) and unroll the flooring into the adhesive 10’ at a time.
    6. Repeat this step for every 10’ of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into its desired position.
    7. After all of the rolls have been glued down, it is often recommended to use a 100-pound roller on the floor to guarantee good adherence to the subfloor. If a roller is not available, walking on the flooring in small choppy steps may also work.

Could this flooring be installed over metal?
meme
You can install our Regrind Rolls over metal. We recommend installing our rubber flooring over any hard, flat surface such as concrete, asphalt, plywood, and the like.
Is the Regrind roll acceptable for a kitchen trailer floor? Is it easily cleanable?
bill hague
You can use our Regrind Rolls as flooring inf a kitchen. Our rubber flooring is very easy to clean and is very slip-resistant, and more so when wet. Also, our rubber flooring is mold and mildew resistant. In commercial kitchen environments, we do recommend sealing the floor with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. This will plug up the small pores in the floor and also help to protect the floor from any grease spills.
We are looking to place this under a climbing dome for our kids in our unfinished basement. What thickness would be the best? It will be going over concrete.
Michelle
Our Regrind Rolls have been used as safety flooring under playground equipment, but these rubber rolls do not feature a fall height rating. For playground equipment, we recommend using a floor that is fall height rated. All of our fall height rated flooring can be found on our Playgroud Flooring page. So you can use our Regrind Rolls, and if you do, we would recommend going with the thickest one, our 1/2" thick rolls, but we don't recommend using this flooring under playground equipment.
What is the weight of the 3/8 inch Regrind Rolls per sq ft or linear ft?
The weight per square foot for our Regrind Rolls is approximately 1.5 pounds for 1/4", 1.8 pounds for 8mm, 2.2 pounds for 3/8", and 3 pounds for 1/2".
Have the cheap puzzle mats. They always come apart and/or buckle and move on me during high impact cardio. Would these roll mats also do the same? If so, do you recommend another type of mat that won't slide, come apart or buckle? Thanks.
scott
Our Regrind rolls will not buckle or come apart as foam tiles would. The weight of the material will keep them in place.
I plan to put these rolls in my garage under a squat rack, and I plan to deadlift over it. If I were to drop 400 pounds from about waist height, would the 8mm thickness be enough to protect the garage floor? I also live in Michigan, so would the cold be a factor at all?
Our 8mm Regrind Rolls in Confetti can be used as flooring for deadlifting. 8mm is the standard thickness used in European commercial gym and is commonly found in American gyms as well. Our Confetti Regrind Rolls are actually more dense than our standard rubber flooring, ensuring that your garage floor will be safe when working out. The cold weather will not affect rubber flooring as it is made from recycled rubber tires. The only thing you will notice is some contraction and expasion as your garage warms and cools if it is not insulated.
We want to put rubber down under our squat rack in the basement. Would you use 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch over top of a Berber carpet?
Joseph
Our 1/4" Regrind Rolls are plenty under a squat rack. Since plates diffuse more of the weight, a 1/4" roll typically is good enough for a home gym. If you are really concerned about the plates damaging your subfloor, you can use our 3/8" thick rubber, but it's not necessary. 3/8" thick rubber is the most common thickness used in commercial gyms.
My room is 13' x 28', 'Man Cave.' I Would like to know what is best, 3/8" or 1/2", and if the second grind material is good?
Chris Fussell
Our Regrind Rolls would work perfectly as flooring in a man cave. These rubber rolls are very durable and are easy to install and clean. For this space, you can honestly go down to a 1/4", but if you were choosing between the 3/8" thickness and the 1/2", 3/8" is plenty.
I read that you said 1/4” over Berber carpeting was sufficient for a home gym. Would 1/4” be good over concrete, or should it be thicker due to the hard under-layer?
Terry Bruce
You can use any thickness of our Regrind Rolls over concrete. The hardness that you will feel is due to the rubber flooring itself and not the subfloor. Our 1/4" and 8mm thicknesses are typically used in home gyms. Our 3/8" thickness is popular with commercial gyms, and our 1/2" thickness is popular for anyone doing Olympic lifts.
Does the regrind feel any different than the other rubber flooring options?
Josh Boyd
Our Confetti Regrind is a little more dense than our standard rubber rolls. Our Black Regrind is a little less dense than our standard rubber rolls. The confetti color is used primarily in standard gym areas, whereas our black regrind is used in areas where shock absorbancy is necessary. Typically people who are doing jump training, plyometrics, or high-impact workouts use our Black Regrind Rolls.
What’s the difference between this and the 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls?
The main difference between our Regrind Rolls and our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls is that the Regrind Rolls are made from the scrap material from our standard rubber lines. Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are a mainline product. With our Regrind Rolls, we offer two colors, confetti and black. The confetti color is actually harder than our mainline product, which means it is more durable. In contrast, the black color is less dense, providing a great floor for high-impact workouts, ensuring that your joints are better protected when working out. Other than those differences, they are made from the same material, recycled commercial truck tire treads.
What is the binding agent for this flooring? I notice a significant rubber smell and am worried it is not safe to breathe.
McKenzie
Most of the smell that comes from our Regrind Rolls and our rubber flooring, in general, is typically due to the rubber material itself. Not necessarily the binder. This smell is not toxic, and our rubber flooring is tested regularly to ensure they are safe for people of all ages. Rubber has a distinct smell, and to mitigate this, we recommend mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution and installing it in an area with optimal ventilation. You would then let the flooring air dry. You may have to repeat the cleaning steps a few times to truly mitigate the smell.
Is the regrind vulcanized material? How does it compare in density compared to other rolls in your lineup?
Mark Halstead
Our Regrind Rolls are not vulcanized. The black color is less dense compared to our standard rubber rolls. An example of a standard rubber roll would be our 1/4" Tough Rubber Rolls. The confetti color is actually more dense than our standard rubber rolls.
Can you install Regrind Roll over tile?
Francesca Beattie
Our Regrind Rolls can be installed over an existing floor-like tile. The subfloor just has to be a flat, hard surface.
Are the Regrind Rolls appropriate to use outside in livestock areas or are they mostly for indoor use? Thank you.
Our Regrind Rolls can be used outdoors in livestock areas. If you are going to use our Regrind Rolls, we recommend using the confetti color. The confetti-colored rolls are actually more dense than our standard rubber rolls meaning they are more durable. Our rubber flooring is weather-resistant and very easy to clean and maintain. These rubber rolls are also very slip-resistant and even more so when wet. The only thing you will notice with these rolls over time is that they will fade a bit in direct sunlight.
Can I use this thickness as underlayment for vinyl planks? I am looking to install vinyl planks on a floor with lots of small imperfections.
SM
If you are installing luxury vinyl planks, you can use our Regrind Rolls under them as underlayment. If the vinyl planks are not luxury vinyl planks, we would not recommend using our Regrind Rolls as underlayment as the two products will interact with each other causing staining in the vinyl.
What color is the confetti? Is it a rainbow of mixed colors or just 1 random color? If I order more than 1 roll, will I get different colors?
joe
The confetti color in our Regrind Rolls is a mixture of colors. It is a random mixture of colors, so no two rolls will look alike. They will look similar, but not exactly the same.
Can I put this underwater like in a swimming pool?
Dave
Yes, you can technically place our Regrind Rolls in a swimming pool. The water wouldn't affect the rubber in any way.

  Unbelievable floors. Love them!

Self-installed in Fitness Studio

I have been in the industry a long time and have trained on many, many floors - so I am a snob about what is under my feet. I also just opened my own small group training center and needed rubber flooring that was durable, easy for me to install on both a budget and a deadline, that was of high quality to train on. I wanted to stay local and tried East Coast suppliers and manufacturers, but none had exactly what I wanted and then I discovered Rubber Flooring Inc. and I was in!!! Not only was the selection outstanding in terms of color, depth, style and usage - but they have so many ways to apply/install it. I specifically got the regrind rolls in confetti and people stop in their tracks when they come through the door. That's how nice these rubber floors are!! My clients love to train on it, they clean like a dream and really keep their color and luster. I am a burpee maniac and doing it on these mats is heaven. In addition, the customer care is some of the best I have ever received. If you run, manage or own in the fitness industry, you know how important that is, and Rubber Flooring's team is the best. Really held my hand through the whole process. Steered me back in the right direction when I veered a bit and then after installation (which was easy peasy - from delivery to literally rolling out the rubber and making a straight cut), still followed up with me for care and feedback. Loved it! Who does that? Thank you Rubber Flooring we are your biggest fans!!! HIIT BOX - Brooklyn NY

We have a 1400 square foot commercial gym, it had low pile carpet in it, we put the 3/8 regrind rolls over the carpet and used carpet tape to keep it in place. It is wonderful. All of our gym members love it! It looks like a whole new gym.

  Tough to install
Installed in Outpatient Physical Therapy clinic
Today's Physical Therapy from Austin, TX wrote...
Rubber rolls are heavy, and material is thick. I needed a professional installer, who worked very hard to cut through the material. Rolls were not matching in color of black, and three rolls were damaged on the sides upon delivery so that the seams have divots and chunks interrupting the seam in some places. I do like the flecks of color in the regrind rolls and samples sent before hand were a good example of what was delivered.
