Can the EZ Polyurethane Adhesive (DT 7700) be used with 1' thick Sports Play tiles being laid on an EPDM membrane outdoors on an elevated deck?
Peter
Our EZ Polyurethane Adhesive can be used outdoors under our 1" Sports Play Tiles.
I will be using this glue to affix 15mm impact rolls to concrete. The concrete is new. Based on the product instructions, I'm not clear: should the concrete be sealed prior to applying the glue or not? Once the rubber floor is down, I need to be sure that the concrete is impermeable in case an animal accidentally pees on the floor... I can't have the concrete soaking that up.
Nick
You do not have to seal the concrete to use our 7700 Series adhesive. To ensure that your concrete is totally impervious to liquids, we would recommend sealing the concrete. Even though the glue will prevent most liquids from going through or coming up, if there were a gap in the glue when applying it, there would be potential for liquids to get through. What you could also do is seal your rubber flooring with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer which will fill in the small pores in the floor. Between the rolls, we would recommend using our Seam Sealer glue. This will help to create a watertight flooring surface.
How effective is the EZ Polyurethane Adhesive with the Crete II product? I will be installing it in the garage.
Lori-Ann E Behrens
You can use our EZ Polyurethane Adhesive with our Crete II carpet tiles.
I would like to glue down your 1/4” thick 4’ x15’ roll to a raw steel tabletop; what glue do you recommend? I have had some bonding issues in the past. The specs on your urethane glue don’t have steel as an approved base.
Steel is not an approved subfloor or base when using our Polyurethane Glue. The issue is that the glue has a tough time bonding properly to steel. We have had customers use our Polyurethane Glue over steel and aluminum with success. To help the glue bond, the customers had to scrape the metal to create a rough surface, allowing the glue to bond properly.
I’m going to be laying rolls of cork flooring (Corkoleum) that has a rubber backing. The substrate is particle board. Will this adhesive bond rubber to particle board?
Kris
Our EZ Polyurethane Adhesive can be used over particleboard.
Will this glue work for adhering your 1/8" rubber flooring to asphalt? I have a picnic area that is asphalt and cracking. It has a roof coving it but has open sides.
Our EZ Polyurethane Adhesive is approved to be used over the following substrates: plywood, Terrazzo, ceramic, concrete, and other existing floor types. So for this type of installation, we wouldn't recommend using our EZ Polyurethane Adhesive.
Does this work well for attaching rubber flooring to concrete? Or is it just for wood floors?
Cory
We recommend using our EZ Polyurethane Adhesive to glue our rubber flooring to concrete and other subfloors. Our website and the label on the pail will instruct you on the size trowel you will need to use to accomplish this successfully.
I will be using this overtop concrete. How much will this cover/gallon?
Each gallon can cover anywhere from 20 to 80 sq ft. Please see the "Installation" tab on the product page for detailed information on coverage.
