Customer Questions

Ask a Question
I bought 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles and love them. But I was wondering how I should clean them for mopping. What kind of cleaner do you recommend using for mopping? Pinesol? Thanks.
Our 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles can be cleaned with a mop. We recommend using a synthetic mop head. Cotton mop heads will leave fibers left behind. Do not mop these tiles with Pinesol. You will want to use our Floor Cleaner and Degreaser or a mild soap and water solution like Dawn and water. This will help to keep your floor looking new for years to come.
Do I need to put a pad underneath them to protect engineered hardwood flooring? And do I need to seal the seams so sweat cannot get in between them?
Cat in the hat
You don't have to put a pad or plastic sheet under our 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles to protect your hardwood flooring. These tiles will not stain or damage your hardwood if placed on top of it. If you are concerned, you can place a plastic sheet under your rubber tiles to protect the flooring underneath. These rubber tiles are the same thickness as what is found in most commercial gyms. So they will keep your subfloor safe from damage when dropping weights under normal conditions. You don't have to seal the seams of our interlocking rubber tiles as they interlock tightly and typically prevent any liquids from getting under your flooring. If you did have any concerns, you can seal the seams with our Seam Sealer glue or could place some Double Sided Tape over the seams.
What's the difference between PowerPlay Rubber Tiles and Sports-Lock Rubber Tiles?
The PowerPlay Rubber Tiles and the Sport-Loc RubberTiles' main differences are that the PowerPlay Rubber Tiles have different color options, and the tiles come corner, border, or center tiles. The Sport-Lock Tiles come with two removable edge pieces which allows you to turn any tile into a corner, border, or center tile. Other than than that, they are made from the same material and are great options for both home and commercial gyms.
Does the measurement 2'x 2' include the locking part of the tile? Or when you trim that off to start against a wall does that make the coverage less than 2' x 2'?
The size of the 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles is 24.12" x 24.12" with the locking tabs included. The tiles when interlocked will cover 24" x 24".
Have been looking around trying to find a viable alternative to traditional vinyl tile for an art/craft studio in my home. Needs to be sturdy and long lived. Also needs to hold up to wheeled office chair and stool. Is this floor suitable for such an application? Thanks for any help/recommendations you have offer!
Hal Baker
Our 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles are a perfect alternative to traditional vinyl in your art and crafts studio. These tiles are very durable and are able to withstand a rolling office chair or stool on them.
Do these tiles have a bad odor?
Vanesa Davis
Our 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles do not have a bad odor to them. These tiles are made from high quality rubber and are cleaned thoroughly to ensure that any excess oils and grime are removed. These tiles are made from rubber, so there is a slight odor. The odor is similar to that of a new pair of shoes.
Can I interlock these 3/8 PowerPlay tiles with the 3/4" soft rubber tiles?
You can't interlock our 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles and our 3/4" Soft Rubber Tiles. They have two different locking systems, and also, the Soft Rubber Tiles are thicker than the PowerPlay Rubber Tiles.
Can the PowerPlay tiles be installed on carpet?
You can install our PowerPlay Rubber Tiles over a low pile, commercial grade carpet with ease. If you have a high pile, plush carpet with a thick pad, these tiles do have the potential to separate. This is due to the thick pad depressing under the flooring. This can cause a potential tripping hazard.
I plan to install Rubber Tiles in my garage for a workout area. But then I'd like to pull the car in at night (a sedan). Thought I'd throw a containment map on top to protect the tiles. Would the tiles hold up under the car's weight?
Our 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles will hold up to the weight of a car on top of them.
Can I install these on my basement concrete floor, or do I need to do something to the floor first, so I don’t have concrete sweating issues and possible mold?
You can install our 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles over concrete in a basement without placing anything under them. If your basement has moisture issues, you can seal the concrete so that you don't get any sweating issues. You don't have to do this if you install our rubber flooring, as the moisture will not affect the tiles in any way. The only thing you will notice if you have water issues is that salts will collect on the underside of the tiles. These salts will not affect the tile in any way and are easy to clean off.
I am planning to lay these mats on a concrete floor for my garage gym. Can they withstand high-intensity workouts and dropping 250 pounds weight bars from shoulder height?
Our 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles can withstand high-intensity workouts and the dropping of heavy weights. 3/8" is the standard thickness used in commercial gyms, thus making these the perfect flooring option for any home gym or garage gym where heavy weights will be used.
How far do the locking tabs stick out from the inner part of the tile? What length would I lose cutting off just the locking tabs on one side to make a border cut?
The tabs on our 3/8" PowerPlay Rubber Tiles are about 1.2" in length. The tiles from tab to tab measure 25.2" x 25.2" and from recess to recess are 22.8" x 22.8". When interlocked the tiles will be approximately 24" x 24".
Is the tile vulcanized?
Lucy Dikeou
No, this tile is not vulanized.
Are the corners and borders also 24” squares?
Center, border, and corner tiles are all the same size, 24" x 24".
