Customer Questions

Don't see what you're looking for?
Are these stamped or waterjet cut?
The 8mm Titan Rubber Tile is waterjet cut.
Regarding 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles, it's not clear what edges come with each tile. Can you detail how many? I am looking at a 10'x14' space and would like to have edging for the entire space.
mrmoab
Each tile in our 8mm Titan Rubber Tile can come with one or two removable edge pieces. This allows you to turn any tile into a corner, border, or center tile. So no matter the size of the area you are trying to cover, you will have enough borders to create a finished floor.
Other than the tile size, are there any other differences between the 8mm Titan and the 8mm Sport-Lock? My application would be home gym over ceramic tile hosting Peloton, weight bench, and dumbbells.
The main difference besides the tiles' size would be that our 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles are vulcanized, whereas the 8mm Sport-Lock Tiles are not. This means the 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles would be non-porous, easier to clean and sanitize, and would be more durable in the long run.
Can you park vehicles on the rubber gym tiles? Or are they too soft? We use our garage as a gym and parking area. Not sure which would be best between the rubber gym tiles and the interlocking garage tiles.
Jon
Our 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles are strong enough to have a car parked on them, but we don't recommend driving a car across them. Since our rubber tiles are interlocking, there is potential for the tiles to come undone when you turn the wheel on your vehicle or brake too hard. For garage gyms, we typically recommend going with garage rolls if you will drive a car in and out daily.
Can these safely be installed directly over hardwood flooring? Looking to build a temporary home gym through the pandemic.
Our 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles can be installed directly over a hardwood floor without damaging or staining it. If you are concerned, we recommend placing a plastic sheet under the tiles to protect your hardwood flooring.
Can these be installed over low plush carpet?
KAYLA R EASTMAN
The 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles can be installed over low pile commercial carpet with ease. If you have high pile/plush carpet over a thick pad or any carpet over a thick pad, we recommend placing a 1/4" thick plywood board over the carpet or removing the carpet before installing these interlocking rubber tiles. We recommend this to prevent separation of the tiles when walked over. This separation can create a tripping hazard.
Is any underlayment or vapor barrier needed before installing these directly over a concrete basement floor?
Stephen
An underlayment or vapor barrier is not necessary when installing our 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles over concrete. Moisture does not affect the tiles in any way. If you do have moisture issues with your subfloor, you may notice a white substance under the tiles. This is not mold or mildew but salts from the concrete. These tiles are mold and mildew-resistant, but if any organic material were caught under the tiles or if you currently have mold and mildew issues, you may still have issues with this until rectified.
I bought the black color. Which side of the tile should face up? It is light black, smooth, and shiny on one side and dark matte black on the other.
R
The top of our Black colored 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles is the shiny side. The matte side is the bottom of the tile.
Can these be used all year long outside? I live in Wisconsin.
Michael
Our 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles can be installed outdoors all year long. They are very weather-resistant and are mold and mildew resistant. These interlocking rubber tiles are also very slip-resistant and more so when wet. Since these tiles are not UV stable, they will fade a bit in direct sunlight.
Can the 8mm vulcanized Titan tiles be glued to concrete to reduce the potential for future buckling or bubbling? If so, do you have a glue that you recommend? Would this affect the warranty on the product?
Charles
We don't recommend gluing our 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles, but if you feel the need to, we recommend using one of our Polyurethane glues. Using glue on the tiles will not void the warranty. Our rubber tiles and rolls typically will only buckle when there is no expansion gap around the floor. If you have the right amount of expansion, you typically won't have any issues when the floor expands.
Are these tiles vinyl safe? (Will they stain vinyl flooring if used on top of it?). Interested in creating a home gym space on top of a flooret brand lvp floor, and their website says any vinyl-safe rubber tile will be safe on their floors. Thanks!
D
If you are installing our 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles over luxury vinyl tile and plank, you will have no worries. If installing them over VCT or natural vinyl products, you will need to place a plastic sheet between the rubber tiles and the vinyl flooring. This will protect the vinyl floor under the tiles from getting stained. If you are concerned even with an LVP or LVT, you can also place a plastic sheet between the rubber tiles and the floor.
I purchased the 4' x 6' version of these a couple of years ago. Those seem to be discontinued. Will these 2' x 2' tiles interlock with the larger mats I already have?
Unfortunately, the 8mm Titan Rubber Tiles will not interlock with the previous 4' x 6' version.
